Advancing Green Futures for New York's Rust Belt Cities

The Rust to Green New York Action Research Initiative is an emerging network of Cornell educators, researchers and students, from multiple fields and disciplines- working together and in collaboration with a wide range of community partners to identify and design innovative strategies and solutions addressing challenges and opportunities unique to New York's Rust Belt cities. Rust 2 Green is currently at work in Utica and Binghamton, NY. It aims to continue expanding across Upstate NY to include all of the Upstate cities, known as the New York Seven, identified by the Brookings Institute as having potential for prosperity.
