Information and Nomination

LEAD New York has been recognized for the tremendous impact it has had across the state, and beyond. Since 1985, over 400 individuals have participated in the program and have added their names to the directory of dedicated and involved alumni.

Graduation from the group does not represent the end, but rather the beginning of a lifetime of new experiences. LEAD New York provides our state with motivated decision-makers that are well informed and able to shape the future of New York. Their efforts have led to such endeavors as - being elected to local, county an state offices, creating economic opportunities in communities, and leading their organizations through challenging times. It is about coming face-to-face with the challenges we live with everyday, and using their experience to lead others to highly innovative and successful solutions.

Our mission says we "...inspire and develop leaders..." Thanks to the dedication and energy of our alumni who give of themselves, New York is a special place to live. LEAD New York recognizes these alumni for their significant efforts in the form of a bi-annual award. Nominations can come from the general public, business, academic and political entities throughout the state.

The Alumni Committee of the LEAD New York Board of Directors will select the award recipient. The recipient is selected utilizing the criteria established by the LEAD New York Board of Directors (see nomination form/application). In order for the selection committee to make a fair decision, it is important for nominators to address all the criteria that apply. The winners will receive a beautiful commemorative award symbolizing dedication to the skills, abilities and characteristics that are essential for exceptional leadership. This prestigious award will be presented at the LEAD New York Class 16 graduation on April 21, 2017.
